Plants Given to Resident as Greening Program

The North Jakarta Sub-dept. of City Park distributed 200 pucuk merah (syzygium Oleina) and yellow palm plants at row village of Cilincing Fisherman village, North Jakarta, Sunday (5/11).

Head of North Jakarta Sub-dept. of City Park, Fajar Sauri, said plants distribution is part of succeeding greening program in North Jakarta. "Later on, we'll distribute productive plants such as fruits if the soil and land structure is appropriate," he said.
Sauri hoped the local residents have concern to the environment and maintain the plants well.
According to him, local residents have problem with clean water since City-owned water operator PAM disconnected its flow to the area since last year. "But we've agreement, they will provide clean water for the plants," he added.
Sumardi (49), local residents, admitted he successfully planted two fruit trees in front of his house on Jalan Rekreasi Cilincing RT 12/04 Cilincing Urban Village. He planted a guava and start fruit trees by using pot.
